The Babe Vindiola Endowment for the Arts was established in 2009 by the Vindiola family. The purpose of the endowment is to provide scholarship assistance to students of the arts receiving private lessons through the Douglas Conservatory. The Douglas Arts and Humanities Association, Inc. administers the Endowment.

Santiago “Babe” Vindiola was born February 6, 1918, in Gleason, Arizona, and resided in Douglas until three years prior to his passing. Babe was a prominent musician in Douglas, and throughout Arizona, from his late teens through his early 80’s. He performed on both sides of the border and many, many times volunteered his services, and he was a member of the Army band during World War II.  He was Santa Claus for several years on behalf of Los Cuarenta Alborotados, an activity for the children he loved.
