Douglas Arts & Humanities Association, Inc (DAHA) 2008 Annual Benefit Raffle Rules
- All proceeds of the Annual Benefit Raffle benefit the Douglas Arts & Humanities Association, Inc. DAHA is a non-profit, 501-(c)3, Arizona corporation, managed by an all volunteer executive committee and membership, for the renovation of the historic Grand Theatre,1139 G Avenue, Douglas, AZ 85607 GrandTheatreDouglas.org, 520-364-6144, 800-582-1111.
- The prize must be the winner’s choice of ONE of the following: A 2008 Corvette Coup, or His and Hers 2008 Harley Davidson bikes with a total maximum value of $20,000 each or $40,000 cash, subject to the following rules:
- The purchase of a Raffle ticket is $75.00. The public has the option of obtaining three tickets for $200 or making a donation to the Grand Theatre Renovation General Fund for an amount less than $75 and receiving no entry ticket to the Raffle. There is no limit to the number of tickets an individual may purchase. Payments may be made by Visa/MasterCard bank cards by calling 800-582-1111 or on the DAHA website www.GrandTheatreDouglas.org. Checks or money orders should be made payable to DAHA, Inc, attached to a completed ticket form and mailed to DAHA, 1139 G Avenue, Douglas, AZ 85607. Tickets will be mailed within 10 working days. If an entrant’s check, Visa/MasterCard is dishonored by the bank, the entry will be declared invalid unless full payment is made prior to the drawing entry deadline. Dishonored checks will be considered an invalid entry and notification will be sent by mail.
- To be eligible for the DAHA 2008 Benefit Car Raffle, completed ticket forms may be mailed or otherwise delivered to and must be in the possession of DAHA, Inc.1139 G Avenue Douglas, AZ, 85607, by 5:00 PM on July 3, 2008 or before 3,000 tickets are sold and received, whichever occurs first.
- Only 3,000 tickets will be sold. The Raffle closes at 5:00 PM on July 3, 2008, or when 3,000 sold ticket forms are in the possession of DAHA, Inc. or its representatives, whichever occurs first. Any ticket forms and money turned in after the entry deadline will be returned to the buyer. All ticket forms will be recorded on a first come, first served basis
- In the event 3,000 tickets are sold, each entry has a 1-in-3,000 chances to win the Prize.
- Winner will be determined by random drawing on July 4, 2008, at approximately 11:00 AM, at the Grand Theatre, 1139 G Avenue, Douglas, Arizona 85607. The public is invited to attend. The prize will be released after July 14, 2008. Any disputed claim must be presented before July 14, 2008. An alternate name will be drawn and sealed for use should the winner be ineligible or DAHA is unable to contact him/her within 30 days of the raffle date, If DAHA can not contact the winner within 30 days, the alternate name will be declared the winner. If the alternate winner is ineligible or can not be contacted within 60 days of the raffle date, then a new random drawing will be held.
- Winner’s name, city and state will be made available to the media, to all raffle participants, displayed on the DAHA website, GrandTheatreDouglas.org, and available at DAHA, 1139 G Avenue, Douglas, AZ 85607.
- If the winner chooses the car, delivery of the car will be made to the winner as soon as practical; however, there may be a delay in delivery because of the availability of the vehicle. Any premium to purchase the car earlier than available, or upgrades to the base vehicle will be the responsibility of the winner.
- Winners will assume and be responsible for vehicle licensing, registration, and all other fees, including local, state and federal taxes, including without limitation all applicable sales, use, luxury, income and special taxes. DAHA specifically disclaims all express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose regarding the vehicle.
- If 2,000 tickets are not sold by July 3, 2008, DAHA reserves the right to modify the Raffle and withdraw the prize and split the remaining net proceeds (income less raffle expenses) equally between DAHA and the winner, up to the winner’s portion of $40,000. All proceeds, less prizes and expenses, will benefit DAHA, Inc and the restoration of the Grand Theatre.
- More than one name may be stated on the ticket form; however, the first listed name shall be deemed the A entrant. The Social Security number provided must be that of the entrant. Payment or delivery of any prize shall be made solely to the entrant. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant in the multiple party entry to allocate any such prize among the participants in the multiple party entry.
- Four Early Bird Drawings of $500 each will be held on April 15, 2008. May 5, 2008. May 30, 2008 and June 15th, 2008. The Early Bird Winners may choose between $500 cash or TEN additional tickets for the Benefit Car Raffle. The Early Bird Winners will not be eligible for the remaining Early Bird Drawings, but will be eligible for the Car Raffle on July 4, 2008.
- Entrant’s names may be exchanged with other organizations holding car raffles.
- The decisions of DAHA shall be final on all matters concerning the Car Raffle.
- DAHA officers are ineligible to participate
- Purchasers of Raffle certificates must be 18 years of age or older
- Void where prohibited by law
- The raffle will be officiated by: Law offices of Christopher Hitchcock P.L.C. of Bisbee, AZ
- For this raffle, it is understood and agreed, by a person sending in an entry, that Arizona laws apply to all aspects of this matter.
